Substantial upgrades have been carried out by JE Engineering in Coventry which include a 'Stage 2 Tune' incorporating an upgraded intercooler, turbo, performance exhaust manifold which in turn is coupled to a full automatic gearbox conversion with a longer ratio transfer box and a larger torque convertor. This Landrover is certainly lively to drive! £2213 has been spent on stopping power with all new calipers, vented discs and pads. Suspension has been upgraded to deal with this added performance with the fitment of a JE Performance Fox suspension kit which includes 4x Fox shock absorbers at the rear and JE antiroll bars (no springs). This makes an incredible difference and gets rid of the 'bounce' that one would normally experience with a Defender. Lighting is taken care of with a clear headlamp upgrade and clear rear lenses. Wheels are JE Type D 18” alloys with BF Goodrich all terrain tyres (£5,313.00). The chassis has also been waxoiled and stainless steel bolts fitted. And so we have a range-topping XS equipped with central locking, air-conditioning, heated seats, half leather and electric tinted windows with all the benefits of the above.
